Tortuga Island
Tortuga Island is located in the Gulf of Nicoya, on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, near the Nicoya Peninsula and across from the Curú Wildlife Refuge. It is actually made up of two small islands, Alcatraz and Tolinga, which lie very close to each other.
Scuba Diving and Snorkeling at Tortuga Island
On Tortuga Island we have several diving and snorkeling sites where it is possible to find a great marine diversity, including green turtles, white tip sharks, nudibranchs, frogfish, eagle rays, among others.
Some of the most popular diving spots include Shark Cave, with a maximum depth of 10 meters. This is followed by The Wall, and finally The Aquarium, the deepest point, recommended for experienced divers. At this last site, it is crucial to take into account the sea conditions, as it presents strong currents and considerable waves.

It takes approximately 1 hour to reach the Island.
Considerations
The dive center is located within the Beach Club & Nature Resort Punta Leona. As it is a private location, it is necessary to request a special pass the day before the dive activity. The access code will be provided once the corresponding activity reservation has been completed.
